Onboarding

Quick start, no depth

This onboarding is the fastest and safest way to get started with Selmo.

It is intended to:

  • convey a correct mental model

  • avoid false expectations

  • provide orientation before you go into detail

It does not replace no reference documentation and explains no technical details.

The goal is not to know everything – but to understand Selmo correctly.

What to expect here

In the onboarding you will find two short texts:

  • Selmo in 10 minutes → a compact introduction to the mindset, structure and purpose of Selmo

  • How do I read Selmo? → a guide on how this documentation is structured → and how to use it sensibly

Both texts are:

  • deliberately short

  • deliberately precise

  • deliberately without technical details

What you'll be able to do after the onboarding

After the onboarding you should:

  • know what Selmo is in principle

  • understand why Selmo is built the way it is

  • be able to assess which chapters are relevant to you

If you want to dive deeper afterwards:

  • go directly to the reference chapters

  • use the glossary

  • do not read linearly, but purposefully

Selmo rewards careful reading – not quick skimming.

One last note

If Selmo seems to you at this point:

  • strict

  • unfamiliar

  • uncompromising

then that is intentional.

Selmo enforces clarity, so that machines remain explainable.
