4.3 Technology – With what is it implemented?

In the second step the technology is analyzed. This is about the question of which hardware and which signal structures are available.

  • Which sensors are available?

  • Which actuators are used (valves, motors, contactors)?

  • What feedback does the technology provide?

  • How is the communication set up (bus, I/O, safety)?

This analysis determines which zone types are required. If a function provides no feedback, it must either be supplemented or secured via monitoring. Selmo therefore forces technological completeness – every action needs feedback.

Representation: A list or table with hardware symbols (sensor, valve, button, calculation) → corresponding zone types (IN, OUT, IN_OUT, MEM).
